I embrace the beauty of imperfections and the authenticity of the handmade. These pots are crafted from soft slabs of stoneware clay, pieced together using custom template shapes. Each piece is adorned with hand-carved stamps, dipped in clay slip, and finished with a clear glaze. Seams, drips, and fingerprints are left visible to honor the construction process. The goal is to create pots that are casual, hardworking, and seamlessly integrate into everyday life. Designed to be comfortable, durable, and bring joy to daily routines, they are dishwasher and microwave safe, and can be used in the oven as long as they are heated gradually.
2016-2019
This work was both wheel thrown and altered and slab built. All cone 10 porcelain and fired in a gas kiln with celadon glazes and white engobes.
